Oct 20, Peter Peegasus rated it liked it. Anne McCaffrey – one of the all time great sf authors The title above about Anne just sums up my opinion of a great SF author. Too much of the story either felt rushed or stretched way out. As it stands, the book is a bunch of characters who exist solely to provide exposition in between scenes that are told at a plodding pace at great emotional distance. The various plotlines are zoomed through hastily, and the introduction of a new Talent appears to be done solely to view spoiler [provide a way to cure Peter’s paralysis, which struck me as really unfortunate – one of the fascinating things about the previous book was Peter’s paralysis and the ways in which that both spurred and was helped by his telekinesis.

Already long-range telescopes have identified a number of habitable planets orbiting the stars of distant galaxies. The series was written over quite a period of time; To Ride Pegasus was published inwhich is some level of excuse for the massive gender essentialism, astonishing normative heterocentrism, weird racist tendencies, and ableism among other things.

Trivia About Pegasus in Space Absolutely don’t waste time on this as a standalone. This series and especially this book is a terrific bridge from modern world into the fantasy world created by Mercedes Lackey where space exploration is possible because of Takents.

She was the first woman to win the two top prizes for science fiction writing, the Hugo and Nebula awards. Long pages of exposition about minor technical matters, action scenes that are one paragraph long using passive voice.

I am a fan of Anne McCaffrey. Her works are always something else.
