This is actually the second book in the series, but a brief couple of panels early in the book explains the background succinctly, so new readers can easily enjoy this as a stand alone book, and it is definitely enjoyable.

I am really enjoying reading the different series by Charlaine Harris. I loved seeing the illustrated versions of Harper and Tolliver and comparing them to how I pictured them in my mind. I also feel like there were a few inconsistencies in terms of timeline, mostly charlainr the beginning.


Was she set up if so, by whom? The best I liked Connelly’s character and her relationship wit her brother.

So to me, it 2nd re-read – this time by audiobook – Have the paperback too. Following the end of Sookie’s recorded adventures, Charlaine wrote the “Midnight, Texas” books, which have become a television series, also.

The coincidence raises suspicions about her among the police – so surprie and Tolliver undertake their own hunt to find the killer. I still enjoyed it, and know that cases haris to be different, and can’t wait to read book three.

The narration was really good and added to the story. I didn’t realize that this wasn’t the first in the series.

But I felt like the killer was obvious from the first interaction with that person. Yeah, there were a few murders and twists, but I felt like a lot of time was spent at the hotel discussing who could possibly have done it, as opposed to the first where they were out there getting their hands dirty.

Harper’s second adventure at least our second adventure with her was just as fun as the first. The drawing’s are crisp and lined well, it’s not messy or blurry on the pages.


It’s a good read and I would recommend it f This is the first graphic novel I’ve ever read, and it didn’t disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised as the mystery actually holds and is interesting too. I find that I enjoy this series and will harriss be continuing the ghoulish adventures.

The continuing evolution of Harper and Tolliver’s relationship clarified the oddity of their sibling interactions in book one. Nunley doesn’t bother to hide his skepticism, especially when Harper stands atop a grave and senses two bodies beneath her – one of a centuries-dead man and the other of a young girl, recently deceased.

And then she find the body of a girl who surlrise had been called in to “search for” in Nashville 18 months earlier and everyone freaks and things that Harper knows HOW the body got there.

Same reader as the first book – actually they keep the same narrator throughout the 4 book series Alyssa Bresnahan.
