The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine
It helped me understand why I feel compelled to do certain things and why I so often have trouble understanding my partners seeming obliviousness to my emotional states.
I am reading a review of this article in Psychology of Brizendjne Quarterly, by one of the authors that this Brizendine supposedly sites a lot Nicole Else-Quest, and they are noting how the studies of hers that she sited are taken out of context, misinterpreted and misunderstood.
The book also includes three appendices on hormone therapypostpartum depressionand sexual orientation. Scientists speculate that though a woman is slower to act out of anger, once her faster verbal circuits get going, they frmale cause her to unleash a barrage of angry feemale that a man cant match.
It helped me to understand so many things about myself, that I loouann never fully understood before. She has also served on bot Louann Brizendine, M. It’s worth the read, explains past behaviors and gives you a head’s up for the future. Often when I see a couple who are not communicating tthe, the problem I see is that the man’s brain’s circuits push him frequently and quickly to an angry, aggressive reaction, and the woman feels frightened and shuts down.

I am sorry if my initial positive review caused anyone to likewise read it and believe the same distorted views about women. No one can do it like Malcolm though, so the lack is obvious. It was her yhe shaming. But the original research doesn’t really say that.

Brizendine provides a fascinating look at the life cycle of the female brain from birth “baby girls will connect emotionally in ways that baby boys don’t” to birthing “Motherhood changes you because it literally alters a woman’s brain-structurally, functionally, and in many ways, irreversibly” louanb menopause when “the female brain is nowhere near ready to retire” and beyond.

Sure enough, I could identify with a lot of things that were being discussed in the text. However, my approach to this book was to understand any scientific advances in the field of biology that finds interesting difference between the sexes.
